The global map is useless for 5% of men

The red dots on a green/brown background are *really* hard to see for colorblind people. Blue dots would be much easier.

Wow good point I hadn't thought of that - although blue dots would be hard to see over the ocean... Is there another color that might work?

Inversion?

What about doing a color inversion of the pixel you are about to draw over? Or perhaps color ranging depending on the strongest color?

If all else fails, white would probably work pretty well.
