Getting IP Address

Postby zapazon on Sun Jan 13, 2008 9:10 am

Hi Guys,

I'm trying to get the IP of a @live.(c)om email address. I'm using GMail. There has been 3 emails sent by me to the address, and one from the user sent back to me from that account. It included two pictures.

Now, here are my questions. Can i just get the IP since I have the email address? If so, how. If not, or is extremely difficult, what can I do to get it? Can I have them download something from the email I send them, and have it be downloaded from somewhere I can track their IP?

Anything at all would be of great use!

Thank you!

hey guys, we actually have a free utility for exactly that, check it out:

scanverify dot COM /spamfighter/

all you have to do is paste the source of the email...

You can look at the headers of the message, but it isn't always indicative - sometimes it only gives you the IP of their ISP's mail server.
