alternate Unix command line requests.

not having lynx installed I hit upon this solution using wget.

Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
wget -O- -o/dev/null "ht""tp://api.""hostip.i""nfo/rough.""php?ip=$1"

something similar can also be done using curl

Code: Select all
#!/bin/sh
curl  -Ss "ht""tp://api"".hostip.""info/rough.""php?ip=$1"

sorry about all the extra "" in the scripts (it has no effect - all it does is hide the U.R.L.-ness of the post from the BBS (otherwise I couldn't post the message)
it still works with them in, it just looks ugly.
HTH.

Bye.
