Plugin for new firefox

Postby juergen123 on Sun Jul 31, 2005 11:55 am

The plugin does not work for deer park alpha 2. So it won't work when firefox 1.5 comes out in a couple months.

Strange - do you get any error messages in the JavaScript console?

I take that back when I try to install the plugin to Deerk Park Alpha 2 it says it is not compatible and it won't install. The java console says this:

RDFItemUpdater:_parseV20UpdateInfo: No updates were found for:
{49eba0b5-0393-4e13-8cc4-06298a281c5d}
If you are an Extension developer and were expecting there to be
updates, this could mean any number of things, since the RDF system
doesn't give up much in the way of information when the load fails.

Try checking that:
1. Your RDF File is correct - e.g. check that there is a top level
RDF Resource with a URI urn:mozilla:extension:{GUID}, and that
the <em:updates> listed all have matching GUIDs.

Ok, try it again - I changed some things in the source

I got a version of Deep Park A2 installed on my linux box and I played it with a lot this weekend - something is strange how it loads the version compatibility numbers from the rdf file... If anyone is more competant than me at writing XUL stuff please chime in...

Thanks to Matthew Walker for the install.rdf patch - now have a new version of hostipfox up (0.3) - I just tried this morning and it works great in the new firefox 1.5B1

Also, another change may make it start up a *lot* faster than v0.2.1 - for some reason it was loading the JRE... This may also help some of the other issues above with it working on Mac's, etc...

The update.rdf was in place, but genius here *blush* forgot to link it to the homepage :)

Try to update from your browser, otherwise click the homepage link to the 0.3 version.

Changes are in CHANGELOG in SVN

(someone else is managing the one on the firefox plugins site)
